‘care’ing for the community through community
Whether or not we accept it, we are made for community … for relationships. We are made for communion with God and with others. We interact with people every day and these people are our community – spouses, children, family, church, friends, co-workers, school.
When we try to escape, we become lonely and are drawn to re-enter community. At times interacting in community is not always joyous; it can get the best of us. Barriers are built and difficult to remove. The simple truth is we need each other.
Community Care believes that as I open up my heart to living in community with God and others, I find a place to belong, to be known, to be encouraged, to be healed, to find hope, and to be transformed. There are three main ministries associated with Community Care. They are Marriage Savers, Soul Care Groups, and Halftime.
