‘care’ing for the community through community

Whether or not we accept it, we are made for community … for relationships.  We are made for communion with God and with others.  We interact with people every day and these people are our community – spouses, children, family, church, friends, co-workers, school.

When we try to escape, we become lonely and are drawn to re-enter community.  At times interacting in community is not always joyous; it can get the best of us.  Barriers are built and difficult to remove.  The simple truth is we need each other.

Community Care believes that as I open up my heart to living in community with God and others, I find a place to belong, to be known, to be encouraged, to be healed, to find hope, and to be transformed.  There are three main ministries associated with Community Care.  They are Marriage Savers, Soul Care Groups, and Halftime.

  • Marriage Savers cares for the family community through a variety of series, groups, and seminars.
  • Soul Care Groups care for the community when life gets the best of us whether it is from abuse, abortion, cancer, eating disorders, various addictions, grief, or finances.
  • Halftime is a place to regroup, rethink, and refresh every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
  • Ministry to Women:  Welcome to an extraordinary place just for women!  This is the place just for women, with women, and led by women.  It does not matter what type of woman you are – your age, your stage in life, your interests, or your desires – at Puyallup Nazarene Church you have a place to belong.
  • Men's Ministry:  Our men call this group "Momentum."  For men of all ages.
